Custom Quartz Sheets for New Energy & Optical Project
An Australian new energy optical developer contacted us in early 2026, sourcing quartz sheets for their high-temperature solar testing platform. The company’s project aligned with the global trend of photovoltaic and optical material R&D, requiring components that could handle high heat and UV radiation simultaneously.
At the start of discussions, the client shared their working conditions: continuous operating temperature near 1000°C, frequent temperature cycling, plus UV monitoring through the quartz window. They compared quartz, tempered glass and borosilicate and asked us to provide side-by-side performance data. Our engineers confirmed material grade, surface polishing, flatness and maximum allowable bubble size, and prepared custom samples for thermal and optical validation.
The client’s lab ran contrast testing. Tempered glass softened quickly at high temperature, and borosilicate could not endure repeated thermal cycling. Our quartz sheets retained stable shape and high UV transmittance after hundreds of hot-cold cycles. The client confirmed acceptance criteria, inspection items and export documentation before placing the trial order.
When deployed on their solar simulation testing equipment, the quartz sheets worked reliably for long-duration material testing. The client commented that the stable optical and thermal performance helped them collect accurate test data for their new solar coating materials.
With confidence built from the trial batch, they scheduled larger orders for their 2026 project expansion. This case reflects the rising market demand for high-performance quartz components in new energy, one of the major growth tracks for the quartz glass industry this year. Suppliers who support custom processing and full technical verification will capture more overseas opportunities.
